19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with former coach his previous coach.
Presently working with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Success also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six finals, including in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and regular emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.
However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The pair traded break points in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional victory, took control to force a decider.
The opponent rescued four initial chances in a tight final set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a return after a lengthy match.
