The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on October 29.
